Oregon Healthcare Pharmacy Services, Inc., is now offering an excellent opportunity for a Licensed Nurse who is energetic and ambitious to join our team as a Consultant Nurse to provide direct pharmacy support, education, and regulatory services. Part to Full-time, weekdays, references required, and benefits discussed at interview.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Valid, unencumbered Illinois Nursing License
  • Valid Illinois Driver’s License
  • Extensive knowledge of CMS/IDPH regulations and guidance
  • 5 years of nurse consulting experience, or worked as DON, ADON, or MDS coordinator in Skilled LTC facility
  • Ability to work independently and drive long distances
  • Ample computer skills (Outlook, Adobe, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Extensive EMAR interface knowledge related to pharmacy orders and communication
  • Effective written and verbal communication and time management skills
  • Demonstrable work ethic
  • Must possess excellent professional communication skills and desire to provide stellar customer service
  • Broad general knowledge and experience of LTC pharmacological and infusion nursing
  • Immunization certification

Job Functions/Responsibilites:

  • Provide routine facility specific education and guidance in ensuring the following of established policy and procedures through routine medical record reviews, med pass observation, and medication room/cart audits
  • Provide facility specific in-service education of pharmacy services as it relates to the nursing departments
  • Assist facility with survey readiness
  • Review medical records through EMAR/hard copy charts within the facility and report findings and concerns to Director of Nursing and facility Administrator as required
  • Routine audit and maintaining inventory of Convenience Kits and automated dispensing cabinets
  • Routine narcotic count, storage evaluation, and report of discrepancies in timely manner •
  • Reinforcing pharmacy policies and procedures, problem solving with facility staff and resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Interface (PCC, Therap, QuickMAR, Etc.) Education to in-house pharmacy staff and individual facility staff
  • Annual Pharmacy CEU Educational In-service
  • Annual influenza and other vaccine programs – ordering vaccine, forms, IC, scheduling of clinics, education of facility and pharmacy staff
  • Maintain routine communication with each facility
  • Routine biannual med cart condition, key, and lock audit
  • Establish and maintain knowledge of in-house pharmacy computer software - QS1, DocuTrack, Mediprocity
